The Mortimer Jordan boys basketball team got one step closer to hosting the Class 5A, Area 11 tournament with a, 42-35, overtime win over Springville on Tuesday night. The Blue Devils (11-7, 4-0 Area 11) can secure the No. 1 seed next Tuesday night with a home win over Corner.

Patrick Burkett led all scorers with 17 points in the win. Point guard Justin Anderson provided eight points and six assists for Mortimer Jordan. Justin Thomas went up for a team-high seven rebounds.

Mortimer Jordan visits Cleveland in non-area action on Thursday night.
