The Mortimer Jordan boys basketball team improved to 3-0 in Class 5A, Area 11 on Friday night at home.

Center Justin Thomas muscled his way to a double-double (18 points and 11 boards) as the Blue Devils took a 60-45 win over Springville. That league win improved first-year head coach Josh Golden to 6-4 overall.

Along with Thomas, senior forward Caleb Brown help Mortimer Jordan’s efforts in the paint. He ended the evening with 11 points. Point guard Justin Anderson dished out six assists to go with seven points for the home team.

The Blue Devils will be back at home on Tuesday night, as John Carroll travels for a 7:30 tipoff.
