A Vinemont was arrested this week in connection with a burglary in which a variety of guns and swords were stolen.

Joshua Wayne Moon, 31, was arrested Wednesday by investigators with the Cullman County Sheriff’s Office after the owner of Cullman Flea Market reported several items stolen. Moon was charged with two counts of burglary, unlawful possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to a news release from the Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators were contacted by the owner of Cullman Flea Market on Dec. 12 after a burglary had been committed at his building. Swords and knives were reported missing in that incident. Later that night the investigator was again contacted by the owner and was notified the building was burglarized again after the owner had partially repaired a back door that was damaged in the first break-in.

The second time the owner was missing several guns and other items. While following up on the case investigators obtained information identifying a possible suspect. The suspect was located with the stolen property and arrested at his residence in Vinemont, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

“I am glad the investigators were able to recover the property in such a short time for the owners and the (suspect) is now behind bars,” said Sheriff Matt Gentry.

Moon is being held in the Cullman County Detention Center on a $15,000 cash bond and a $17,000 property bond for a total bond amount of $32,000.

All of the items that were reported stolen have been recovered by investigators.
