Wallace State men’s basketball is hosting the inaugural Buffalo Wild Wings Christmas Challenge beginning Thursday at Tom Drake Coliseum.
The five-day event features 23 high schools from around the state, including a handful of ranked teams and familiar visitors to each year’s Northwest Regional Tournament at Wallace State. Saturday’s eight-game slate has been deemed the North vs. Central Alabama Challenge.
At halftime of each game, one fan will be selected to attempt a half-court shot for a chance to win wings for a year, courtesy of the Cullman location.
Additionally, the Wallace State Lady Lions host Columbia State at 2 p.m. on Friday, prior to the second day of the Challenge.
“We are excited to host the first Buffalo Wild Wings Christmas Challenge and grateful to Buffalo Wild Wings in Cullman for their partnership in and support of the event,” said Wallace State coach John Meeks. “The first year of the event presents an exciting field, giving teams at all levels a chance to experience all that Tom Drake Coliseum offers. Saturday’s lineup is especially impressive, with several highly touted players in the state in various classes, as well as some of the top ranked teams in the state.”
