A Cullman man was arrested Tuesday after Cullman County Sheriff’s investigators allege he sent obscene material to “what he believed to be a minor” through various social media websites.
Ray Charles Schultz, 26, was charged with sending obscene material to a minor after a two-month investigation, said Cullman County Sheriff Matt Gentry.
Investigators and patrol deputies executed a search warrant at the suspect’s residence Tuesday and seized several electronic devices as evidence, he said.
“I have said many times that our children are our most precious gift from God, and we as parents and law enforcement must do everything we can to protect them from the evil that is in this world,” Gentry said in a news release. “I have no sympathy for someone who tries to take advantage of a child.”
“I would also like to thank our investigators and patrol deputies for doing a great job on this case.”
Schultz is being held in the Cullman County Detention Center with no bond. Other charges may be pending.
