Residents around Stiefelmeyer Park are opposing a proposed cell phone tower that would be located on a private lot in the R-1 residential single-family zone. The tower would be located in the vicinity of the pictured tree line. According to residents in the area, the tower could be twice the height of the treeline.

The Cullman City Planning Commission has denied a proposed cell tower for a residential Cullman neighborhood.

Forty or so residents of the neighborhood around Stiefelmeyer Park turned out for the commission’s November meeting, and when asked by a show of hands, how many opposed a cell phone tower, 34 responded. Just a handful of other residents, six sitting together in the back, raised their hands in support of the project.
