Cross country: Pinson Valley, Gardendale take JeffCo. Championship podium

KIMBERLY—Mortimer Jordan High School hosted the Jefferson County Schools Cross Country Championship on Tuesday.

In the boys run, Pinson Valley stood out with the top three finishers: No. 1 Vondrekus Miller, No. 2 George Vazquez and No. 3 Seth Lord. As a team, the Indians finished in first place with 28 points. Second place went to Gardendale, who finished with 46 points.

The Rockets finished on top in the girls run, beating out No. 2 Corner, 24-51. Corner’s Payton McCaleb broke the tape at 21:30.91, but Gardendale placed four girls in the top-10, including No. 2 Alexa Kauffman, No. 5 Elise Fitzgerald, No. 7 Jaycee Dill and No. 10 Brooke Lyles.
