St. Bernard Jazz Band director, Simpson, receives award

- Shown are St. Bernard Band Director, Ken Simpson (right) received a special recognition award honoring the St. Bernard Jazz Band from Assistant Commissioner, James Myrick. The students received a letter and gift from Governor Bentley as a "thank you" for playing at this special event.
The St. Bernard Jazz Combo performed Wednesday, Oct. 12, in Decatur for the North Alabama Committee on the Employment of People with Disabilities to honor many people in Cullman, Lawrence, Limestone and Morgan counties. This awards luncheon took place at the Turner Surles Center. Members of the Jazz combo included Victor Fentanes, alto saxophone; Ben Swalley, tenor saxophone; Payton Johnson, flute; Dominic Pautler, euphonium; Garret Marti, piano; Manny Rocha, guitar; Avy Whaley, bass guitar; Isabella Cline, drums.
