UPDATE: Warrior suspects in custody, school off lockdown

UPDATE: Warrior Elementary School is no longer on lockdown, as Police Chief Ray Horn said all suspects are in custody following a traffic stop that escalated into a police chase this morning.

The names of the suspects and charges facing them will be announced as details become available.

Warrior Police attempted to make a traffic stop of a vehicle near Warrior Elementary School. The suspects refused to stop and became ensnared in the roped off roads near the school. At that point, Police Chief Ray Horn said the suspects jumped out of their vehicle and fled on foot Away from the school.

Horn said the school was placed on lockdown as a precaution. Neither suspects entered or attempted to enter the school and everyone at the school is safe and the school is secured at this time, Horn emphasized.

Police are continuing to pursue the suspects in the woods using tracking dogs. Horn said it isn’t yet clear who the suspects are or why they are running. He described them as two white males believed to be in their 20s. One weapon, believed to belong to the suspects, was recovered.
