Mortimer Jordan celebrates homecoming win

KIMBERLY—Mortimer Jordan’s homecoming against West Point ended in a successful 42-20 win.


The Devils got points on the board only 56 seconds into the game, with Spencer Brown’s 60-yard touchdown, and gaining the extra point from the kick. West Point answered with a Kolton Easterwoods quarterback keeper, but the kicker failed to complete the kick. Once again, Brown found another touchdown from 11 yards out to brings the score to 14-6, Mortimer Jordan.

West Point scored another touchdown, but again failed to gain their extra points on a 2-point conversion ran by Cameron Moore.

Julius Washington scored a 38-yard touchdown for the Devils. Washington’s touchdown consisted of an eight-play, 61-yard drive to bring the tally to 21-12 in Mortimer Jordan’s favor. 


The Blue Devils dominated the fourth quarter. West Point fumbled the ball, and Daniel Rouse recovered the ball for Mortimer Jordan. Douglas Moore found Hunter Bartlett, who ran a whopping 63 yards to score a touchdown on the first play of the drive.

Brown scored the final touchdown of the night, putting the final score at 42-20.


Brown had a total of 29 carries, 3 touchdowns and a total of 213 rushing yards.


Washington had a touchdown to go with a total of 45 rushing yards. Peters added another touchdown and 65 rushing yards. Bartlett finished with a touchdown and 63 yards rushing.
