The Week 3 Alabama Sports Writers Association prep football poll has been released, and Class 6A Gardendale climbs one spot to No. 7 after handing Pell City a 36-0 defeat on Friday. The Rockets currently sit at 3-0 with their first Region 6 game coming at home this week against Carver (Birmingham).

Mortimer Jordan (2-1) stays solid at No. 4 in the Class 5A poll with a 40-0 win at Region 6 Springville. The Blue Devils now look to an upward-trending Corner team that has started 3-0. The Yellow Jackets, for the second consecutive week, are receiving votes to enter the 5A top-10.

Mortimer Jordan will host Corner this Friday night in a key region clash.
