- Renderings of the proposed retail renovation, created by Leonard Design, and submitted to the Cullman city council.
A full-scale renovation is in the works for the small retail center at the intersection of Second Street and Third Avenue in Cullman, with plans to add a brick facade and attract some new businesses.
The small retail center, located just to the south of Carlton’s Italian and the Campbell Company Salon, currently hosts a sign shop in a metal building. The renovation proposal calls for a complete redesign of the facade to feature brick, with the building split into a handful of smaller retail spaces. Renderings for the proposal closely match the existing downtown aesthetics.
The center features 4,463 square-feet of retail space. The current proposal will create three separate tenant slots.
The project is being handled by Mead Investments, LLC.
The city’s board of design review recommended the developer request the city provide landscaping in the grassed city right-of-way. The council has tabled the landscaping request in an effort to gather more information about the proposal before moving forward.
