Cold Springs defended its home court against county-rival Holly Pond on Tuesday, turning back the Broncos in four sets.

Elizabeth Hill recorded nine kills, three blocks and three aces for the Eagles, who won 25-23, 25-27, 25-13, 25-14. Grace Chambers contributed nine kills and seven aces, Claire Harbison had eight kills and six digs, and Madison Holmes added six aces and 29 assists.

Cold Springs’ junior varsity squad defeated Holly Pond 2-1.

In other local volleyball action, Cullman beat Class 2A No. 3 Falkville and Fairview swept Hayden 3-0 in its area opener. The Lady Aggies are now 8-1.
