Tenors’ All-Star Game performance draws intense social media reaction

The Tenors, a vocal quartet based in British Columbia, created a stir at Tuesday’s All-Star Game when one member, Remigio Pereira, changed the lyrics to “O Canada” during the group’s performance of the anthem before the game at Petco Park.
Pereira also pulled a small sign from inside his jacket which read “All Lives Matter” and held it aloft.
The group quickly posted a statement on its website saying Pereira acted as a “lone wolf” and will not be performing with the group until further notice.
That didn’t stem the tide of negative reaction across social media, however. Here is a sampling:
The Tenors’ performance wasn’t shown live on U.S. television, but it aired in Canada, where criticism of the change was overwhelming.
