Stephen Chandler and Emily Blackwood

Keith and Cindy Blackwood of Cullman announce the engagement of their daughter, Emily Blackwood, to Stephen Chandler, son of Anthony and Beth Chandler of Hanceville.

Miss Blackwood is the granddaughter of D.L. and Margre Blackwood of Hanceville and the late Don and Betty Long of York, Alabama.

Emily is a 2009 graduate of Cullman High School. She attended the University of Alabama (Tuscaloosa) to complete pharmacy prerequisites. She is a graduate of McWhorter School of Pharmacy Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama, where she earned a doctor of pharmacy degree. She is currently employed as a pharmacist at CVS Health.

Mr. Chandler is the grandson of Charles and Jean Lollar of Hanceville and the late Earl and Lillian Chandler of Hanceville.

Stephen is a 2005 graduate of Hanceville High School. He received bachelor degrees in social science and secondary education from Athens State University in Athens, Alabama, in 2011, and in 2016 he earned a masters in history from the University of West Alabama in Livingston, Alabama. He is presently employed as a history teacher and coach at Hanceville High School.

The wedding is set for 6 p.m. July 9, 2016, at First Baptist Church in Cullman.
