Blue Devils host youth basketball camp

Newly appointed Mortimer Jordan head boys basketball coach Josh Golden is opening the gym doors for some summer camping.

Golden, who was approved by the Jefferson County Board of Education on June 7, will conduct a youth basketball camp In the Blue Devils’ gym on the campus of Mortimer Jordan High School from June 27 through June 30 (Monday through Thursday).

The camp will be open to kids entering grades one through six, and is available at $80 per player. Registration will be held on Monday, June 27 from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. at the gym.

Golden, his coaching staff and players will instruct campers from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. each day, but kids can be dropped off as early as 8 a.m. and picked up as late as 1 p.m.

Golden, who has made five trips to the Final Four in his 13 seasons as a head coach, will lead multiple fundamental drills alongside assistant coaches and members of the Mortimer Jordan basketball team.

Campers can expect to compete in 3-on-3 and 5-on-5 games along with many other drills, including hot-shot competitions.
