Name: Det. Kyle Pannell

Department: Gardendale Police Department

On the Job: 18 years, approximately 10 at Gardendale

Pannell started as a reserve officer while he was working in a different field but quickly fell in love with police work.

“I liked it because it was different every day, it was exciting and I like helping people,” Pannell said.

Now Pannell works most of Gardendale’s sex crime cases and, although the subject matter can be difficult, he said the best part of his job is knowing he is getting predators off the street so they can’t hurt another child, or getting them before they are able to harm a child.
