This year’s festival marks the fifth anniversary of Rock the South, which was launched as a one-year celebration of the tornado recovery following April 2011. The festival has given back more than $200,000 to local charities including The Link, Alabama Forever, and Children’s Hospital of Alabama.

Though pre-sale deals put costs comparable to last year, most ticket price tiers increased this year, trending up as they have each subsequent year. Two-day general admission tickets increased from $69 to $79, Platinum tickets increase from $119 to $129, and VIP tickets increase from $219 to $229. Only the Ultimate VIP tickets, priced at $459 last year, have dropped. Ultimate VIP tickets now cost $399. Despite the overall up-tick, organizers note the festival is still more affordable than most comparable festivals in the southeast. Every ticket tier has already sold out, except for general admission.
