Doug Hill, 45, beloved son, husband and father of Cullman, passed away Thursday, May 12, 2016. Doug was born in Moulton and had been a resident of Cullman for the past 15 years. He will be remembered for his easygoing approach to life, love of Alabama football and the beams of light and joy he brought wherever he went. Doug was the proud owner of AJ’s Steakhouse in Cullman for the past 10 years.

Doug is survived by his wife, Melody Folsom Hill; one daughter, AJ (Abigayl Jamel); faithful companion, Max; mother, Sandra Kay Harris Hill; stepfather, Gary Coan; six brothers, Dale, Josh, Scott, Adam, Brett, Caleb, many other family members and a host of friends who were brothers and sisters “from another mother.” Doug graduated from East Lawrence High School and attended Calhoun Community College.

A service to celebrate his life will be held Sunday, May 15, 2016, at 11 a.m. at Parkway Funeral Home in Trinity. A graveside will follow at Old Bethel Cemetery in Courtland. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Dale Hill, Josh Harris, Brett Coan, Adam Coan, Caleb Coan, Scottie Hill, Noah Clay Hill and Tony Hill.

Honorary pallbearers will be Tony “Butch” Allen, Marcus Garth, too many close friends to name.

For Cullman friends, neighbors and customers, the family invites you to join them today for a reception from 1 to 3 p.m. at AJ’s Steakhouse.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to East Lawrence Sport Programs.
