Courthouse services to remain in Dodge City

- In this 2015 Times file photo, Dodge City Mayor Tawana Canada shows off a computer set up by the Cullman County Probate Office at the Dodge City annex where residents can renew their driver license online and print out a temporary card.
Residents in and around Dodge City will continue to be able to renew their drivers’ licenses without having to drive to Cullman, thanks to an agreement that keeps that and other county services in place for another year.
Dodge City and the Cullman County Commission have signed a $120, one-year lease agreement that will retain the courthouse satellite office located inside the Dodge City Town Hall.
The satellite office is a joint service effort between the Cullman County Revenue Office and the Cullman County Probate Office. Dodge City has housed a courthouse satellite since August of 2011.
The county also maintains two other courthouse satellite offices: one at Hanceville City Hall; the other at the Baileyton sheriff’s substation.
All three satellites provide the same basic services. County residents can use any of the offices to pay their property taxes, renew their car tags, pay business licenses and, in most cases, renew their drivers’ licenses.
The satellite office at Dodge City is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
