- 5 New ways to dye Easter eggs
First, hard boil your eggs. To do so in the oven, pre-heat the oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit. Place eggs in a muffin tin, cook for 30 minutes then place in a bowl of ice cold water for ten minutes.
For this creative concept, you will need a few bottles of nail polish, a container with water and a stick to stir. Pour the nail polish in the water, stir with a wooden stick. Then dip the egg in and let air dry.
This coloring method will require water in separate containers, packets of Kool-Aid, spoons, a cooling rack, paper towels and a tray. Line the tray with paper towels, then place the cooling rack on top and the eggs on top of that. Mix each flavor of Kool-Aid in a separate container using only a small amount of water, to make the color more concentrated. Spoon the water over the eggs and air dry.
To “whip” up colorful eggs, you will need whipped topping, an empty container, food coloring, a spatula and a wooden stick. Spread the whipped topping along the bottom of the container, about an inch thick. Drop about 10 drops of food coloring per color throughout the whipped topping, then stir with the stick (but not too much). Then place an egg in and cover with whipped topping using a spatula. Place the eggs on a plate and refrigerate for at least an hour, then wipe the whipped topping off the eggs.
For this coloring trick, you will need a quarter cup of uncooked rice per color, an empty container, and food coloring. Place the rice in the container, squeeze 10-15 drops of food coloring into the container. Close the container and shake vigorously. Place the egg in the container and shake gently for a few minutes coating the egg completely.
To color your eggs with a gentle touch, you will need rubber bands, non-toxic markers and baby wipes. Color the wipe using different color markers, put lots of color on the wipe. Wrap the wipe around the egg and secure with rubber bands. Let dry in the fridge for a few hours before removing.
