- The Cullman Bowling Center will be the “home alley” for St. Bernard, West Point and Cullman when the Alabama High School Athletic Association again adds bowling to its list of championship sports offered this winter. So far, 78 schools across the state have declared they’ll field bowling teams.
The inaugural playoff field for high school bowling in Alabama will include a local boys team when regionals begin on Wednesday.
West Point earned a berth as the fourth and final seed in Region 7 and will participate in the North Regional Tournament as a result.

The two-day event will start Wednesday at Tuscaloosa’s Leland Lanes with a trio of traditional 10-pin games to determine seeding for Thursday’s competition. Squads will be placed in an eight-team bracket on the second day and go head to head in elimination rounds comprised of one traditional and five Baker games.
Half of the 16-team regional qualifiers will earn a berth to the state bowling tournament set for Jan. 28-29 in Pelham.
West Point is coached by Don Farley.
