- Dana Flippo, left, and Donain Rodriquez were arrested in Gardendale on Thursday after Jefferson County Sheriff's deputies said they found almost a half pound of methamphetamines in the Cadillac Escalade in which they were riding.
Tips from the public led to two arrests in Gardendale for allegedly trafficking in methamphetamines.
Dana Flippo, 30, of Gardendale and Donain Rodriquez, 28, were arrested Thursday after they were stopped by Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputies at Mt. Olive Parkway and Decatur Highway, according to a release from the sheriff’s office. Investigators were allegedly tipped that meth was being sold in areas just north of Gardendale, and that the suspects would be transporting meth from a nearby home in a 2004 Cadillac Escalade.
Once patrol units spotted the vehicle, they pulled it over and let K-9 units perform a search, the release. That search allegedly turned up almost a half-pound of meth.
Flippo and Rodriquez were both charged with meth trafficking, and Rodriquez was also charged with second-degree possession of marijuana. They are housed in the Jefferson County Jail in lieu of $500,000 bond, plus an extra $5,000 for Rodriquez on the marijuana charge.
