Girls basketball roundup: Mortimer Jordan clips Gardendale; Locust Fork mauls Oneonta

- Gardendale's Sabrina Knight (11) and Mortimer Jordan's Shayna Mims (25) battle for the ball in the Blue Devils victory Thursday over the Rockets.
Mortimer Jordan trailed by three points at the end of three periods, but stormed back with 21 points in the final quarter for a 60-53 victory over arch-rival Gardendale on Saturday.
Kaylan Hines led Jordan (8-6) with 16 points. Shayna Mims scored 13 points, and Anna Boger and Nicole Goldsmith each added 11, with Boger hitting three 3-point shots.
Joy Sadler led all scorers with 23 points for the Rockets (13-7).
Gardendale 43, Cullman 40: Kaylin Talley hit a 3-point basket at the buzzer to push the Rockets past the Bearcats on Friday.
Joy Sadler had 13 points and nine rebounds. Lauren Hill and Alissa Cornelius added nine points each,
Christina Skinner paced Cullman with 20 points.
No. 2 Locust Fork 63, Oneonta 17: The Hornets ran their record to 17-1 as they blasted the Redskins on Friday.
Jamie Gail Hudson scored 14 points and grabbed 12 rebounds — six on the offensive boards and six on defense. Kimberly Horton also scored 14 for Locust Fork, and Madison Cater added 11.
Pinson Valley 65, Cordova 62: Breanna Green scored three 3-pointers in the fourth quarter, as the Indians came from behind for the win Saturday.
Five Pinson Valley players scored in double digits. Kaitlyn Ambrose led the Tribe (2-13) with 16 points, KenJada Hutchinson had 14, Kendall Goldman added 12 and Aaliyah May chipped in 11 to go with Green’s 10.
Hayden 88, Cordova 67: On Jan. 5, the Wildcats lit up the scoreboard with 58 points in the first half alone.
Brooke Meadows scored 24 points, Evin Bibb had 16, and Mikayla Rickels and Taylor Garrett added 15 each for the Cats.
Alexis Cooper carried the Blue Devils on her shoulders, scoring a whopping 43 points for the night, with all but nine in the second half.
