Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating a stabbing death that occurred Wednesday afternoon on Corner School Road.
Deputies were called to the scene by a woman who allegedly said her uncle and her 17-year-old son were fighting and one of them had been stabbed. Police and paramedics arrived on the scene in the 9800 block of Corner School Road to find a 57-year-old man with a stab wound.
According to a release from the sheriff’s office, the teenager, his mother and other witnesses said the older man has been drinking and became angry that someone had been inside the storm shelter at the property. He then allegedly began throwing things at a car belonging to the pair, threatening the young man, and then began striking the teenager with his fists.
The teen pulled a hunting knife from his belt and stabbed the uncle, according to the release from the sheriff’s office.
Paramedics attempted to treat the man, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
No identities were given by the sheriff’s office while the investigation is ongoing. The release said the information and evidence will be turned over to the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office to determine if charges will be filed.
