Former Gardendale Chamber of Commerce director arrested on five counts of identity theft

- Alan Hall, 41, of Gardendale was arrested on five counts of identity fraud on Sunday. Hall, a former Greater Gardendale Chamber of Commerce executive director, was released from the Jefferson County Jail after posting $125,000 bond.
Alan Lee Hall, 41, of Gardendale, was arrested early Sunday morning by officers from Gardendale Police Department.
Hall is charged with five counts of identity theft.
According to a statement from Gardendale Police Department, Hall was allegedly using the identity of various victims to attempt to open credit card accounts online.
Hall has previously served as the director of the Greater Gardendale Chamber of Commerce from January of 2011 and October 2012. Gardendale Police declined to comment further on the case.
Identity theft is a Class C felony, punishable by one to 10 years per charge, if convicted.
Hall was booked into the Jefferson County Jail at 3:25 a.m. on Sunday and was released on $125,000 bond at 9:09 a.m. the same day, according to jail records.
