The weather forecast for Friday night mentions strong chances of thunderstorms, which has prompted many high school football playoff games to be moved up to Thursday night.

The Alabama High School Athletic Association sent a notice to its member schools on Monday, giving them permission to move the games up a night if they wanted. Four games involving local teams have been changed.

  • Hartselle at Gardendale
  • Lawrence County at Mortimer Jordan

  • Hayden at East Limestone (Athens)

Fultondale’s playoff game at Bayside Academy in Daphne remains on Friday; the chance of storms is not nearly as high in the coastal counties that night.
