Motorists on Interstate 65 going through north Birmingham may face some delays for the next two days.

The Alabama Department of Transportation says it will close the right lane in both directions on Monday and Tuesday between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m.

The closures will be between Daniel Payne Drive and Finley Blvd., and are needed so that crews can install overhead signs.

The work is part of the I-22 construction project just north of the lane closures.

Traffic paces, also known as rolling roadblocks may be needed at time through the area, an ALDOT spokeswoman said.
