Deputies responded to the location and reportedly followed a trail from the plants to a home in the 2400 block of Mayfield Road.

Deputies reportedly knocked on the door and the woman who answered said her adult sons lived with her but weren’t home. She gave deputies permission to look around the house.

Deputies allegedly found a large amount of packaged marijuana in a bedroom closet of the home. The woman indicated the bedroom belonged to her son.

After obtaining a search warrant, deputies allegedly uncovered two pounds of marijuana inside the home and 17 plants growing approximately 15 feet from the garage. The estimated value of all the marijuana is $36,000, according to the sheriff’s office.

While deputies were searching, Clinton Carl Norwood, 57, arrived home. He allegedly told deputies the marijuana belonged to him. He was arrested, charged with trafficking marijuana and placed in the Jefferson County Jail on a $250,000 bond.
