Glossip’s last meal detailed – execution scheduled for 3 p.m.

Death row inmate Richard Glossip is scheduled to be executed at 3 pm. today at the Oklahoma State Penitentiary in McAlester.

The Department of Corrections said Glossip’s last meal is chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and a dinner roll, fish and chips, a Baconator burger and one strawberry malt.

Glossip is scheduled to die for the 1997 slaying of Barry Van Treese in Oklahoma City. Glossip has maintained his innocence.

The method of execution is lethal injection. Midazolam causes sedation. Rocuronium bromide halts respiration and potassium chloride stops the heart.

There are currently 48 men on death row at OSP in McAlester. A female also sentenced to death is housed at Mabel Bassett Correctional Center in McLoud.

Oklahoma Gov. Mary Fallin has said she will not intervene.
