Cullman's Callie Hollingsworth congratulates a quick swim by teammate Check Freeman during last week's season-opening triple-dual meet at the Cullman Wellness and Aquatic Center.

Cullman’s boys and girls swim teams cruised to sweeps Tuesday at the Cullman Wellness and Aquatic Center, claiming the winner in all but one race at a triple-dual meet.

Callie Hollingsworth and Colby Hutson were each victorious in a trio of individuals events and a pair of relays.

Hollingsworth’s haul — which included first-place efforts in the 100-yard individual medley, 50-yard freestyle and 50-yard butterfly — led the Lady Bearcats to convincing victories over Westminster-Oak Mountain (57-20), Hazel Green (60-17) and Gadsden City (61-11). Her time of 29.50 in the butterfly broke the team record.

Hutson’s triumphs in the 100-yard IM, 50-yard butterfly and 50-yard breaststroke sent Cullman’s boys well on their way to lopsided decisions over Westminster-Oak Mountain (54-23), Hazel Green (58-14) and Gadsden City (59-6).

Other winners for the Black and Gold girls were Reese McNeel (100-yard freestyle and 50-yard backstroke), Cabri Adams (200-yard freestyle) and Claire Ogstad (50-yard breaststroke).

McNeel was second in the 50-yard freestyle. Adams was third in the 100-yard IM, as was Ogstad in the 50-yard butterfly.

Hollingsworth, McNeel, Adams and Ogstad teamed up for first in the 200-yard medley and freestyle relays. They set the team medley record with a time of 2:02.57.

Other winners for Cullman’s boys were Eric Pilcher (50-yard freestyle), Check Freeman (100-yard freestyle) and Ethan Hendrix (50-yard backstroke).

Pilcher (50-yard breaststroke), Freeman (50-yard freestyle) and Preston Harrison (100-yard freestyle) snagged second-place results. Clay McAlpin was third in the 200-yard freestyle.

Hutson, Pilcher, Freeman and Hendrix were the foursome to beat in the 200-yard medley and freestyle relays.
