MONTGOMERY — Year 2 of the Luke Bailey era at Huntingdon is off to a tremendous start.
The Fairview product picked up Saturday right where he left off last season, passing for 260 yards and four touchdowns and running for 38 yards and a fifth score in a 56-35 slugging of Louisiana College.
Bailey kicked off his junior campaign 13 of 19 through the air with touchdown strikes of 11, 59, 35 and 51 yards. His six-point play on the ground covered 11 yards.
With at least nine more games on the schedule, Bailey is easily on pace to shatter the school record he set for passing touchdowns in a season (23). He needed just seven games to set the mark in 2014 after being thrust into the starting role early in the fall.
Division III Huntingdon hits the road next week to face Birmingham-Southern.
