PREP VOLLEYBALL: Warriors rebound from Monday sweep with 2 wins Tuesday

West Point won a pair of volleyball matches on Tuesday at Hanceville, one day after dropping two in a three-team matchup at Falkville.

The Warriors bested Locust Fork Tuesday in matching 25-15 sets and followed up with a 25-19, 25-18 victory over the hosting Bulldogs.

West Point’s Bailee Yearwood was a serving machine with 15 aces, including 11 against Locust Fork, on Tuesday. She also combined for 16 assists, four kills and three blocks.

Other Warrior contributors for the day were Olivia Vandenberg, 11 aces and seven kills; Cassie Mariano, 13 kills; Lillie Burdette, nine assists and six aces; Jeri Beasley, seven kills and three aces; Sarah Wright, seven aces; and Brooke Griffin, four aces and three kills.

Stats for Hanceville were unknown.

Tuesday’s wins by West Point (3-2) were much welcomed after a 19-25, 19-25 loss to Falkville and three-set defeat (26-24, 19-25, 15-17) to Hatton the day prior.

Beasley led the Warriors this time with 20 aces and seven kills over both matches.

Other contributors Monday were Yearwood, 15 assists and seven aces; Griffin, six aces, six blocks and five kills; Vandenberg, nine kills and four aces; Mariano, seven kills and three blocks; Burdette, six aces and five assists; and Wright, five aces.
