The lane closures that the Alabama Department of Transportation had announced for Interstate 65 have been postponed.

ALDOT had scheduled closures in the northbound lane of I-r5 through the Interstate 22 construction zone from Friday through Tuesday nights so that crews could pour bridge decks. The main work is just south of Walker Chapel Road in Fultondale.

But a spokeswoman said Saturday that the closures would be put off.

No reason was given for the delay, but scattered storms have moved through the area on Friday and Saturday.
