Football jamboree: Gardendale 21, Mortimer Jordan 0

Gardendale running back Tye Dunklin ran for 64 yards, including 26 yards for a touchdown, in two quarters of play in Gardendale's 21-0 jamboree win over Mortimer Jordan.

Zac Cupps connected with Reagan Padgett on two long touchdown passes, as Gardendale outscored Mortimer Jordan 21-0 in two quarters of varsity jamboree action Friday.

Cupps found Padgett on a 78-yard scoring bomb just 51 seconds into the exhibition. The twosome connected again with 1:33 left in the second quarter, this time for 55 yards.

Tye Dunklin also scored on a 26-yard run, and Seth Reburn kicked three extra points.

Cupps completed seven passes on 11 attempts for 191 yards. Dunklin ran 64 yards on seven carries.

Friday’s jamboree was originally scheduled for Thursday, but postponed when heavy rain inundated the Driver Stadium playing surface.
