- This classic truck was displayed at last year's auto show during the Founder's Day celebration in Fultondale.
Fultondale Founder’s Day will take place on Aug. 22 at Black Creek Park, and part of the celebrations will include the annual auto show.
The show will include a series of contests in several categories, including Mayor’s Choice and Best in Show, as well as categories for vehicles of different decades, ranging from the 1950s and earlier to 1980s and newer.
The show will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The show will include music and food, and participants are encouraged to bring their own tents.
Admission for spectators to the auto show is free. Entry into the auto show is $5 for automobiles not participating in the judged contests.
Entry for competing class is $20.
The auto show has been part of Founder’s Day for several years, and Founder’s Day itself has taken place since 1997.
The event celebrates the incorporation of the city, which took place in 1947. The name Fultondale is a combination of two local mining communities, Fulton Springs and Glendale.
The deadline for mail registration in the competing classes has already passed; any other interested parties can complete their registration online.
