- Capital murder charges have been added to previously-filed charges for aggravated assault in the death of 3-year-old Jettie Adams (left) in Trafford. The new charges were filed Thursday against Misty Lynn Wright (right), Adams' mother, and Johnathon Wayne Talley (center) Wright's boyfriend.
A mother and her boyfriend are now charged with capital murder in the beating death of her 3-year-old daughter, Jettie Adams.
Misty Lynn Wright, 23, and Johnathon Wayne Talley, 39, both of Trafford are also charged with aggravated child abuse in the case. Adams was found early Monday morning on a mattress outside the trailer she and the couple lived in with several other people.
Adams was transported to Children’s Hospital of Alabama in Birmingham, where she was pronouced dead a short time later.
An autopsy conducted by the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office determined the cause of death for the child was “severe internal injuries, consistent with those from repeated blows to the chest, abdomen and head.”
Talley and Wright are being held in the Jefferson County Jail without bond while they await trial.
This is a developing story; we’ll update as events warrant.
