The mother of the 3-year-old found dead in Trafford on Monday, Aug. 3 has been charged with aggravated child abuse, along with her boyfriend.
Misty Lynn Wright, 23, and her boyfriend, Johnathon Wayne Talley, 39, are being held in the Jefferson County Jail without bond.
The child, identified by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office as Jettie Adams, was found unresponsive outside her home on Gurley Lane in Trafford in the early morning. She was pronounced dead at Children’s Hospital a short time later.
Autopsy ruled the child’s death a homicide due to “severe internal injuries,” according to a release from the sheriff’s office. “These injuries are consistent with those from repeated blows to the chest, abdomen and head,” the report continues.
The autopsy will be presented to the district attorney and a capital murder charge is expected, according to the release.
