The Warrior City Council agreed unanimously to purchase a security system for the library. Installation will cost $99 and there will be a monthly fee of $37 for the system and service from ADT.

Mayor Johnny Ragland said there had been issues with minor thefts at the building and this should curb much of that. The council also discussed looking into camera systems to be installed in the library and other various city buildings.

The council also agreed to spend $600-$800 to remove a large tree behind the fire station. The tree has been dropping dead limbs and could possibly damage the fire station. The department is also looking into building a storage building behind the station to store gear and this will clear the way for that, according to Ragland.

A local citizen also approached the city about purchasing an old utility trailer that hasn’t been in use in a number of years, for $1,000. The council also approved that unanimously.
