Gardendale Police Department arrested Jared Anthony Tolson, 21, of Homewood, on July 10 on charges of solicitation to produce child pornography and solicitation to disseminate child pornography. Tolson is being held in the Jefferson County Jail on a $45,000 bond. 

According to police, Tolson had allegedly made contact with a 13-year-old male from Gardendale using social media. He allegdly developed a relationship with the boy and then requested videos containing sexual content from the alleged victim. The parents of the teenager contacted the police department. 

“This is a warning for all parents to monitor their children’s social media,” Gardendale police said in a release. “Tolson was following everything this family was placing on various social media sites.”
