Hanceville man arrested after escaping Winston County deputies

A Hanceville man who escaped from a Winston County Sheriff’s Office patrol car Monday was captured today in Cullman County.
Bradford Seth Burney, 19, was arrested after he was spotted in a blue Chevrolet pickup truck that was reported stolen in Cullman County. Burney wrecked the vehicle later in Garden City and Cullman County deputies and Hanceville police officers arrived at the scene and arrested the man, according to information released by the Cullman County Sheriff’s Office.
Burney was first arrested in Addison by Winston County deputies in connection with a burglary. After he escaped the patrol car authorities began watching in Cullman County.
Burney is charged in Cullman County with receiving stolen property and is being held on a $10,000 bond. Winston County officials may also bring other charges against Burney, according to Cullman County authorities.
