Ronald “Tom” Dooley, 77 of Gardendale, passed away Sunday, May 24, 2015 after a lengthy and courageous nine year battle with cancer and beating all the doctors expectations. Tom was healed of all cancer and of all pain and suffering.  He passed peacefully in his sleep with his family by his side.  He was referred to by the doctors as “The Miracle Man” and by loved ones as not only a loving and giving individual, but as one of the strongest men ever known.  Tom was a Mortimer Jordan High School alumni from the class of 1957. He served in the 117th Air National Guard from 1954-1962. He loved working with cars and was also known to many as “the car man”.  He loved NASCAR racing and was an avid Alabama football fan, but his number one love in life was his wife and family.  Tom was preceded in death by: his father, Harley Dooley and mother, Flossie Dooley.  He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Patricia Savage Dooley, daughter Maria Turner (Doug), granddaughter Amanda Davis (Chad), grandson Steven Turner, great grandson Turner Davis, brother Kermit Dooley (Joyce), sister Kathleen Humble (Buddy), nephews Troy Dooley (Kathy), Shaun Dooley, Scott O’Dea and a host of great nieces and nephews.  He wanted to express special thanks to all his doctors and nurses at UAB.
