The UBEVs had occurred in the Lexington Park and The Cottages subdivisions.
On March 27 at about 2 a.m., a resident in the 1300 block of Mountain Lane called Gardendale police to report that a person wearing a dark hoodie and blue jeans was checking the door handles of parked cars in the Lexington Park subdivision.
The resident also reported seeing a green Honda Civic slowly driving down the street around the same time.
Gardendale patrol units responded to the area and spotted the green Honda Civic on Mountain Lane.
The driver of the Honda attempted to elude the officers out of the area, according to Detective Brad Cotton.
“Due the offender’s reckless driving in attempt to elude the Gardendale officers, the suspect and the vehicle were later located wrecked outside the subdivision,” Cotton said in a press release.
