The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office has identified the victim of a fatal accident Saturday in Gardendale.

Justin Shwayne Bice, 36, of Sumiton, was struck by multiple vehicles and killed as he tried to cross Interstate 65 on foot, after exiting his disabled car.

There’s no word yet from state troopers on what happened to Bice’s car, which was stopped in the southbound lane of I-65 between the Mt. Olive Road and Fieldstown Road exits, or why he left the car and tried to cross over the northbound lane.
