SHARON, Pa. – A man police say was drunk was arrested after trying to arrest a policemen looking into a report of a loud disturbance shortly after 4 a.m. Monday in Sharon.

Christopher Samuel Donnelly, wearing only jeans and a T-shirt but sweating profusely, had scratches as though he had fallen down. He yelled that he had been fighting with his girlfriend, who was sitting with a torn shirt nearby in the passenger seat of a vehicle, police said.

She said she wasn’t injured at all and only wanted to leave, but Donnelly tried to stop police while one of them was closing the vehicle door. He said the police had violated his civil rights and he tried to take a policeman by the wrist, saying he “was under citizen’s arrest,” police said.

After putting him on the ground and handcuffing him, police said they found a glass tube, or “straight shooter” drug pipe in Donnelly’s pocket. Donnelly threatened a patrolman and his family on the way to the station, police said.

Donnelly was taken to jail and charged with obstructing the administration of law enforcement, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, possession of drug paraphernalia and public drunkenness.
