Hayden man killed in Atlanta. Joshua Richey, 38, was shot and killed by a man who was apparently trying to steal his pickup truck. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported that Richey and a co-worker, both construction workers employed by a Georgia firm, were walking out of a Kroger supermarket on Ponce de Leon Avenue in the city’s east side when they saw a man sitting inside the truck. According to the co-worker, Richey knocked on the truck’s window, and the man inside shot Richey through the glass and then sped away. The area has a reputation for hgh crime, with the supermarket being nicknamed “Murder Kroger” because of it, despite the company’s efforts to re-brand the store to fit the Beltline neighborhood. The AJC says Richey has four children. We’ll have more on this story as we get developments from Atlanta.
