A tanker truck that overturned on northbound Interstate 65 Friday afternoon has traffic being diverted off the highway and onto U.S. 31 near Morris.

The truck slid off the road at the Barber Blvd. exit. The truck overturned and is wedged between the main highway and the top of the northbound on-ramp from Barber Blvd. Traffic was backed up for about three miles, almost all 

At 2:45 p.m., I-65 North was closed, and traffic was being routed onto U.S. 31.

No injury reports were available yet.

Motorists going north beyond Gardendale are advised to exit I-65 at Mt. Olive Road, go east to U.S. 31 and turn north. Heavy traffic will still be encountered at the Barber Blvd. exit.
