Gardendale’s girls basketball season came to an end Wednesday night, as the Rockets fell to Huffman 59-53 in the first round of the Class 6A Area 11 tournament at Shades Valley.

Joy Sadler had a double-double, scoring 20 points and pulling down 12 rebounds. Senior Roxie Faulker added 13 points and six rebounds in her final game for Gardendale, and Claire Lumpkin scored 12 points.

Shaforia Kines led all scorers with 28 points for the Vikings, and Catherine Hawkins added 10.

The Rockets finish the season with a 14-15 record.
