A Pinson woman has died of injuries she sustained in a wreck on Monday.

The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office reported that Amy Lyn Kurilla, 25, died when her vehicle ran through a roadside fence and into a ravine.

The crash occurred on Monday at about 3 p.m. on Cedar Mountain Road near Edwards Lake Drive East, near Emerald Lake and about two miles east of the Palmerdale Homesteads Community Center.

Kurilla was taken to UAB Hospital and died at 4:39 p.m.

Authorities do not yet know what caused the crash, and are continuing to investigate.
