PREP INDOOR TRACK: Cullman’s Wren wins high jump at MLK Classic

BIRMINGHAM — Cullman’s Kelsey Wren picked up her second gold of the season Tuesday at the Birmingham CrossPlex, winning the girls high jump at the Martin Luther King Indoor Track Classic.

The senior seized the victory by clearing the bar at 5’2”. The top result catapulted the Lady Bearcats into a tie for 19th out of 41 teams that scored at least one point.

The large-scale meet included Class 1A-7A schools from all over Alabama, as well as a nice chunk of out-of-state competition.

Cullman’s Garrison Hill just missed out on his latest podium with fourth in the pole vault. He tied his personal best at 14 feet.

Other notable results include:

% Kyle Norris, 12th in the 1,600-meter run and 15th in the 3,200-meter run

% Olivia Kontogeorge, 13th in the girls triple jump

% Kristina Muller, 16th in the girls shot put

% Ann Carol Braswell, T-16th in the girls pole vault

% Michael Bentley, 17th in the triple jump
